ABOUT ME
My name is Ellie, I'm a new Mum and as most Mum's know, that's kind of my only defining characteristic at the moment. So, I've decided to expand my horizons and appoint me a 'Boss' and a Mum too.
When I found out I was pregnant, my husband and I moved to beautiful Central Otago to start our family. River was born and shortly afterwards, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness which left me unable to work. So I had to get creative and I turned on the old sewing machine again.
I've always dreamed of owning my own little clothing brand, I studied and graduated with Honours in Fashion Design and have previously worked in design and production for a few New Zealand womenswear labels. I never thought I would end up making childrenswear, but I absolutely love it!
I might not be the most 'brand appropriate' childrenswear designer, being a huge metal head, who loves beer, skating and only wears black. But I must not be as hardcore as I thought I was, because creating all the cute, colourful pieces and seeing all your littles in my work, brings me so much joy!
Dear River is a love letter to my son, the little boy who swerved my life into this direction and the inspiration behind this brand, so it was only fitting I address it to him.
